The Garcia Weir Gallery began as the online home of the Weir Gallery of Berkeley California which from 1987 to the early 1990's provided a unique art environment, bringing together local artists, known and unknown, to meet their public and to savor the occasion with champagne, poetry and music. Weir Gallery has always been known for its association with Jerry Garcia. Roberta Weir assisted Jerry in every aspect of his visual art, from drawing sessions to etching instruction, creating editions and designing his exhibits. Roberta is an acknowledged expert in his work and his signature.
Roberta Weir‘s paintings, drawings and prints can be found in collections across the United.States, and have been featured in numerous exhibitions in California.
She is the author of Leonardo’s Ink Bottle, a popular book about art and perception, published by Ten Speed Press.
Roberta founded the Weir Gallery in 1987 and introduced the work of many regional artists, including Jerry Garcia, with whom she created etchings and experimental prints.
